How about the 1968 Batmobile?

In Season 3 of the 1960's Batman TV series, the Batmobile underwent some significant cosmetic changes to better fit the show's story line. So, how about a chance to own the 1968 Batmobile in 1/6 scale? We're thinking about making this happen...

How about the 1968 Batmobile?
Same show, different car!

Over the course of the 1960's Batman TV series, the Batmobile underwent some significant changes, mostly to match that season’s story line. We've already replicated the iconic initial 1966 version of the Batmobile with our highly popular 1/6 scale model, which is an exact replica of the car as it started that first season. That model is completely sold out, waitlist closed. Never coming back.

But in the coming seasons (and the TV movie), the Batmobile underwent some significant changes during production. So we were thinking... why not make the 1968 version of the Batmobile too!?

This would NOT be a reissue or a 2.0 of the 1966 Batmobile because the two vehicles are distinctly different. We've noted over 40 differences! Plus, we'd need to change the design and tooling, to make sure that the 1968 Batmobile is as accurate to its appearance in season 3 as possible. This means that almost all parts on the car change somewhat, to show the cosmetic changes it had undergone in those two years. We would not put in any upgrades - like die cast parts, smoke or sound - so don’t request these.

But the 1968 Batmobile would give those truly nostalgic 1960's Batman collectors a chance to own another piece of the show.

Curious about what these differences are? Check out the video for all the visuals and a full list! Here's an incomplete list:

  • Completely new paint job with different (flatter) black and a more pink cherise red for the striping (no longer bright red)
  • Different (Edsel) full circe steering wheel with 3 spokes
  • New standard Radir rims (not the deep dish seen in season 1)
  • Different, narrow Laredo Tires (instead of wide Mickey Thompson)
  • Geiger counter added to the dashboard
  • Longer rocket tube
  • Camera under rocket tube
  • Different antenna
  • Gas filler cap on top of passenger area
  • Bat lever is moved
  • Addition of bat pencil, no bat scope
  • Shortened bat-turn lever
  • Solid plastic red bats on doors, no white outline decals
  • 5 light array under dash has different coloured lights
  • Bolts securing front canopy
  • Bat beam antenna is silver and slightly different shape
  • Safety belts added
  • Different orange batray lenses
  • Completely new arch over back windshields (instead of under)

And over 20 more cosmetic changes!!!

DO NOT THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA BECAUSE, IT IS THE SAME CAR WITH DIFFERENT FEATURES, IT WOULD HURT THE VALUE OF THE FIRST 1966 BATMOBILE.
